Hong Kong taxi questions

How much is a taxi from Hong Kong airport to Central?

By the meter, plus HK$50.00 for the harbour crossing and HK$6.00 for each bag in the boot. The calculator above shows the trip to Tsim Sha Tsui, and the airport page lists typical fares to each district.

Which taxi should I take from the airport?

Red urban taxis go to Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and most of the New Territories; green taxis serve the New Territories and blue taxis Lantau. Each has its own rank at the airport.

Why is there a return toll?

Drivers usually have to cross back empty, so for the Cross-Harbour Tunnel and the Eastern and Western Harbour Crossings the table adds the toll twice. It isn't charged if you take the taxi from a cross-harbour stand.

Is there a night or holiday surcharge?

No. The fare table is the same at all times.
