What Taxifare estimates represent
Fare estimates on Taxifare are designed to reflect typical transportation costs under normal conditions.
- They help compare taxi vs ride-sharing options
- They show realistic price ranges, not exact totals
- They aim to set expectations, not predict outcomes
Why actual fares may differ
Final fares can vary due to factors outside the control of any estimator, including:
- traffic and waiting time
- time of day and day of week
- route choice and road conditions
- local surcharges, tolls, or special rules
- demand-based pricing for ride-sharing
Because of this variability, no online calculator can reliably predict the exact final fare in advance.
Taxi vs ride-sharing estimates
- Taxi estimates are shown only when publicly available tariff data is reliable and sufficiently documented.
- Ride-sharing estimates are based on aggregated recent trip data and are subject to dynamic pricing and surge behavior.
Not a substitute for final pricing
Taxifare estimates are not a substitute for:
- taxi meters
- in-app ride confirmations
- official receipts or legally binding fare disclosures
Always rely on the final meter reading or in-app price for payment.
